The fundamental transformations of contemporary world, which have encompassed also science and language reality, have posed a peculiar challenge to linguistics. A relevant linguistics-founded response ought to be an increased interest in all ways of language existence (concrete communication acts and their products in the form of texts, a system language, individual language awareness and collective language consciousness) as well as their interactions. Its effect should be, besides many new empirical concepts, a fuller synthesizing theory.
